A
Technological and Ecological Breakthrough
for the Drycleaning Industry
This new process
not only cleans and freshens garments faster and more economically
than currently used methods, it eliminates the health,
environmental, customer, landlord and regulatory problems associated
with traditional “Perc” dry cleaning…as well as the zoning,
flammability, odor, pollution and cost issues with alternative
processes using liquid Carbon Dioxide, Silicone, Glycol Ether and
Hydrocarbon solvents.
The solution
DWX 44, Dry-Wetcleaner®
, is an aqua-based, proprietary formulation of
ecologically correct, non-toxic, anti-odor, chemicals and
additives used in traditional wet-wetcleaning.
Garments are put
in the state-of-the-art, easily operated, dry-to-dry “Green Jet”™
Dry-Wetcleaning™ machine (patent pending) which uses a unique jet
air pulsating system to first dislodge loose dirt and soil from
garments, de-lint them, and then jet sprays DWX44, Dry-Wet Cleaning™
solution, that permeates into and through garments cleaning and
freshening them. Specially
designed filters, and reusable “blotters” or pads in the machine
scrub, attract and absorb the dirt and soil left.
The cleaned and freshened garments are then tumble-dried
nearly wrinkle-free.
With Dry-Wetcleaning™,
garments do not have to be transferred from a washing machine to a
drying machine. The
Dry-Wetcleaning™ process cleans all colors and fabrics in the same
load in a single unit. The
start-to-finish process takes about 30 minutes per load and can
handle most all garments brought into professional dry cleaning or
wet-wetcleaning stores. The
cleaning ability and results are similar to Valclene®
drycleaning (when it was in use).
From
an ecological standpoint, the Dry-Wetcleaning™ process is both
environmentally and occupationally friendly and promises no
contamination of site or nearby occupancies.
It is totally non-toxic (oral, dermal, inhalation), anti-odor, non-flammable, non-VOC,
contains no hazardous air pollutants, is chemically inert, does not
require labeling by OSHA and is RCRA and CERCLA non-regulated.
From an
industry standpoint, the process provides fast, inexpensive cleaning
for almost all garments. Delivery
of finished garments is faster because processing time is decreased.
Less solution, less energy consumption, less pressing time
and garment rework is needed per load.
Expensive detergents and additives are not needed at all, and
there are no solvent disposal costs, and few, if any, claims for
damaged orders. The
process leaves no harmful residue on garments.
Colors stay bright with no shrinkage, color loss or fade,
fabrics stay soft with good hand, and manufacturers’ finishes
remain intact. Finished garments are odor and static-free, with minimal
lint. The process works
well with all fabrics, especially delicates and doesn’t allow
spots and wrinkles to “set” into garments, which makes finishing
a lot easier. No special handling is needed for most beads, sequins,
buttons, trimmings, and difficult garments.
With no strict
zoning regulations, special environmental permits, taxes, or high
cost insurance currently associated with the dry cleaning business
to contend with, the Dry-Wetcleaning™ process may even qualify
stores for special funding or tax breaks in some states.
